iPhone 12 Pro weird charging behaviour

Hello,

since about a month my iPhone 12 Pro has a very weird charging behaviour, when I charge my phone overnight with the MagSafe wireless charger. Sometimes it didn't charge at all. One time it charged, stopped charging, charged, stopped charging in a 5 seconds interval the whole night, cause I didn't noticed it. The last night I charged my phone at about 9:30 p.m. and it charged until 11:40 p.m. when it stopped charging past 74%. At 2:20 a.m. it then disconnected from power even it was the whole night on the MagSafe charger without power outage. Does anyone have a idea if it's my phone or if it's the MagSafe charger? Maximum Battery Capacity at 88%, i don't think that this behaviour is normal even if I have Optimised Battery Charging On.

Kind Regards,

Thomas

If you had said 80% I would have suggested turning off Optimised Charging.

I would try it:-

  1. Without a case for one night then
  2. Using a genuine Lightning cable for one night

and see how the behavior changes.

If you get similar behaviour on either or both then arrange to have the phone looked at.
