I received a receipt for the purchase of 2Ts of storage space on the iCloud a few minutes ago but do not recall ordering it. Is this an automatic process if I'm running out of space?

No, it's not automatic. Only you would be able to subscribe to iCloud +. Visit support.apple.com/billing for all of your purchase details.

I am wondering why I received a receipt for payment for the purchase of 2 Ts on the iCloud that I do not recall doing.
