My HomePod mini won’t allow me to change certain settings in the Home app. It says it has the up to date software. Also it won’t automatically act as a home hub so I cannot control my lights remotely.

Update the HomePod, then see how it is. If it’s still not working try a Reset: Reset HomePod - Apple Support, then set it up again with your iOS device, which should also be running the latest software.
i reset it twice and it already says the software is up to date. Everything works fine on it, Siri, control for my lights, music. But it just won’t recognise as a home hub so no control when I am not home. And I cannot change certain settings for the home pod mini in home app
