Saving an excel file

Hi I have made 3 spreadsheets on my Mac Air and I normally save as to my desk top. It just won’t save. Also when I try to open a recent file it states:

“Can’t open this workbook has either been deleted or is not currently accessible”

please help as it’s holding my work up.

thanks

Firstly, it's best you save your work in the designated default work folders. In cases like this, you know exactly where to look.

Search with Spotlight; a partial file name will do, you'll just potentially get more hits. You can also search with .xlt, .xls and so forth.

If no joy, you'll need to rely on your most recent backup. But I'd guess the files are there some place. Don't forget iCloud Drive if you use it.
