macbook pro asking for name (not Login) and password when starting up

I have same problem as this thread - macbook pro asking for name and password … - Apple Community

My Mac was working fine. One day it ran out of pwer and booted. It brings up a screen askign for user to select. I select my user and enter password... It proceeds and then presents me with a screen asking for "name" and "password". I have tried everything i can think off but not able to proceed.

Please help

Thanks

I see you're saying negative— can not log in. That is a problem.

Well, you can certainly file a bug report/submit your Apple Feedback hhttp://www.apple.com/feedback

As of 05/13/22  the macOS Monterey 12.4" Release Candidate" was issued to developers, you can expect it to be available in the next couple weeks from the >Software Update and see if this update address the bug/ resolves your issue.

How can you get the "Name" from terminal. I can open terminal in recover mode... I am sure password is correct as it passes the login screen"

What is your user name?

Can you see the list of user from Terminal.app This will list all registered users on you computer, copy and paste:

dscl . list /Users | grep -v '_'

your user name should be in this list.

if no insight/resolve/progress,

I see a lot of options to try— "Please look at this link. as this is exactly my problem... "
