Parent approval of Apps - notifications not being received

I have set up family sharing and app downloads approval for my two children. I am set up as owner and my husband is also listed to approve and all was working. However I lost notifications and a few days later so has my husband. No settings have been changed and I don’t know how to reactivate. I have tried to switch off requests and back on again but without success. What do I need to do to fix this? Two unhappy children not able to download their apps and a frustrated Mum wanting to make it better!

using iPad Pro, iPad 9th gen, iPhone 11 and iPhone SE. Shouldn’t have a problem on all current apple products

Hello kathrenw,

We understand that you're not receiving requests for Ask to Buy. Do the notices show up in the Notification Center, by chance, and just aren't alerting you? Here's where to look, per: If Ask to Buy isn't working

Open Notification Center on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • From the Lock Screen, swipe up from the middle of the screen.
  • From any other screen, swipe down from the center of the top of your screen.

If they're there, it's possible the notifications are being delivered silently. Check and see if Focuses are enabled that could be disrupting the alert.

Cheers!
