No playback on Garageband keyboard when using instruments

I was recently making a beat using arcade and all was well. Suddenly there was no instrument playback when I hit the corresponding keys. Rather they started acting as GarageBand shortcut keys instead of playing the instrument.

My velocity is not at zero and I already reset my midi settings and my laptop.

Any help to get the keyboard keys to work as instruments again?
