how do i undo migration assistant
I tried to use migration assistant to set up my new MacBook Pro from my iMac but it didn't complete, now none of the apps open on my MacBook pro. how can I reverse this?

Since it is a new computer the fastest method would be to perform a clean install of macOS by first erasing the hidden Container before reinstalling macOS. Here is a link to an Apple article with instructions, but you will need to also follow the "erase your disk" link within that article as well:

Of course erasing the disk will destroy all data on the drive.
Trying anything else to fix the computer will take time and will be very difficult to do remotely without being able to see the computer.
Edit: Another method involves restoring the firmware on the new laptop, but this requires access to another Mac running macOS 10.15+ using the instructions in this Apple article:
