There is no easy way. If you sync photos to iCloud you can go to Settings/[your name]/iCloud and turn off Photos. You will be asked if you want to keep or remove the photos; choose Remove. Note that if you ever turn this switch back on they will be restored to the phone from iCloud.

Another way is to turn that switch on if it is off and wait for it to sync to iCloud while plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi (to speed up the sync). After all of the photos are in iCloud log in to https://icloud.com/photos, click on Library, then click the first photo. Now scroll to the last photo and SHIFT-CLICK on it to select all photos, then click the trash icon. This will remove all photos from iCloud, your phone, and any other devices (iPads, Macs, Windows with iCloud for Windows).

Other than that, in the Photos app on your phone tap on All Photos (or Library), then the Select button at the top and select a bunch of photos and then trash. If you have a lot of photos this can be time-consuming.

Note that with any of these approaches except the first you must repeat steps in the Recently Deleted album.
