I bought it three days ago. Is it possible to use a macbook without activating the warranty?
I would not waste any time worrying about cycle count, before or after you bought your mac or now.
You have an expected 1000 cycle count. You battery is covered under hardware warranty.
The rule of thumb — if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on battery only.
BHM (battery health management) as linked above will take of the rest, extending the working life of your battery. You do not have to micro-manage your battery.
