Charge Cycle count

I recently have purchased Macbook Pro 16" (2021) from a local store. Most of the time I used it plugged in. After 3 days, I checked the battery charge cycle count and it's 04. I can not understand how it can be 04 full cycle of charges. I didn't checked this count while buying the macbook. Is it possible to know when my macbook was first used/opened?

I would not waste any time worrying about cycle count, before or after you bought your mac or now.

You have an expected 1000 cycle count. You battery is covered under hardware warranty.

The rule of thumb — if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on battery only.

BHM (battery health management) as linked above will take of the rest, extending the working life of your battery. You do not have to micro-manage your battery.

Did you buy it new (factory sealed) or ?? And what time period is "recently"? Even a new one may have 1 o 2 on it out of the box - that is simply from the manufacturing/testing process. You can try Coconut Battery (app) that might reveal the info you want, but in general, I would not worry about a couple of cycles - it is rated for about 1,000.
