So Apple are enabling apps to use OUR DATA , so they can sell that data to apps, however NO app allow the significant locations history list , as we all had access to. How dare Apple restrict our usage of OUR data they are collecting and selling whilst HIDING THAT DATA FROM USERS!! Underhanded and infuriating. What possible reason can Apple have to restrict instant access to consumer's own data, that is collected & stored as previously & IS INDEED available to apps instantly !!!
Have you actually read the information on the phone? "Significant Locations are end-to-end encrypted and cannot be read by Apple". Following that is a link to Apple's larger privacy policy statement.
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services>Significant Locations
How, exactly, does Apple sell data they can't read?
Huge brand distrust because of this restriction of one's own personal data !!!
DO WE ALL NOW NEED TO DO 'SUBJECT ACCESS REQUESTS' TO OBTAIN OUR OWN DATA !!!!!
OUR DATA is essential for evidence to show where WE were on any data and this functionality should have been expanded and not removed from consumers whilst APPLE retain it. How dare Apple put consumers own access to THEIR data second to app manufacturers.
Ranting here at your fellow users accomplishes little beside perhaps catharsis. If you actually want Apple to know your thoughts, use the feedback page:

Totally agree. The data is still being collected by Apple, which can clearly be seen , as the number of locations changes & the total is visible but with no detail accessible! Meanwhile notifications still regularly pop-up to allow user authorisation of that same significant location data for external apps !!
