VIP mailbox

Hi,


Is there a way for emails sent by me to one of my VIPs to show up in my VIP folder, even if it didn't get a reply?


As it stands now, emails I've sent to VIP recipients only turn up in my VIP folder once they have been answered by the VIP and I'm not sure if it's the way it is or simply something I failed to implement in the settings. I can't seem to find where/how I can do this though.


I need to be able to quickly and easily track my sent emails, even the ones that never got a reply.

If you'd like your VIP mail to be sorted into the VIP Mailbox before they reply back to you (as your sent mail), this information might help.


While the specific idea you're looking for isn't currently a feature for sent mail and only mail you receive for VIPs, you can set up rules or a different Smart Mailbox to more granularly manage your email. Here are some links to get you started:



As you will see there are a lot of options for organizing your mail through those features. You might need to do some testing to see what works best for you. A quick note: If you decide to use Smart Mailboxes, be sure to check "Include messages from Sent" when you set up the new mailbox.

Thank you for replying, this is really helpful - at least now I know it's just not currently a feature, so not something I'm missing :-)


I was using a smart mailboxes before, specifically for the same purpose as what I'm now using the VIP feature for, but the entire mailbox seems to have just vanished!


So I was trying to find another way to keep track of these specific emails that would be less "risky".


I might try again.

Oh no no no, I know it's not a mailbox per se, sorry, I didn't explain this very well...


I literally just need a means to filter emails from all the people within this group so I can quickly search through them for information I may need at any given time in the future in connection with an ongoing situation.


I did use to have a smart mailbox where I had added all our email addresses and included received/sent etc. so that anything to do with this group was filtered in there, adding new addresses as and when, but as I said above, it just vanished!


I'm sure there's a way to find out where it went and get it back but I haven't had the time to figure this out and needed to be able to get to these emails quickly so I used the VIP feature in the meantime and was just trying to find out if there was a way for my sent emails (to VIPs) to be filtered in there too, before they were answered and without adding myself as a VIP so that ALL my other (unrelated) emails wouldn't end up in there too!


I'll look into trying to find my smart mailbox when I have a bit more time but I'm also always a bit afraid of losing important emails (I have in the past) when messing with things like rebuilding mailboxes etc.!
