jittery trackpad movement

I just brought a brand new MacBook Air(2020) about two weeks ago, and have noticed that the mouse movement is kind of jittery sometimes when I use the trackpad. I wouldn't say it lags as much as it just doesn't go where its meant to. The movements are small, not enough to cause major problems just kind of annoying and worrying. Ive noticed it does this more often when i am using more processing power, and when I am mousing over areas with more 'stuff'. For example it happens more when the cursor is over my browser tabs or bookmarks, and almost never on an area where there is less stuff you could click on (eg. desktop, blank area of a webpage, ect). I would say I notice it happening about 4-5 times a day? for normally about 10 seconds, never more than 30.

Hey there frazzyjam,

It's possible that you need to adjust your trackpad settings to chance the tracking speed to help with how the trackpad functions.

To see the options, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Trackpad , then click Point & Click.
