Can i reset apple password with my mobile telephone rather than email

if i have a new email that isn't registered on my apple account as the registered on was deleted by the old operator can i use the registered mobile number to receive a text message with the reset link?

How to recover account password without old phone number I am trying to sign in to a new apple device with my old apple id, but I have forgotten my password and trying to use the "forgot password" option directs me to input an old phone number that was associated with my account. The problem is, I've been using an Android device with a different phone number for years now, so I have no idea what the old phone number associated with my account is. I also no longer have access to the apple device that was associated with my account, and have never logged into itunes on a computer with that account either. I do have access to the email my apple id is registered with, but the password recovery isn't giving me the option to retrieve it via email, it's only giving the option to input that forgotten phone number. So how can I retrieve or reset my password without my old phone number or Apple device?

apple id, password, work phone I was given a work phone with someone's apple ID still logged in. the previous owner of the phone cannot remember the password to log in. We no longer have access to the original email that the apple ID is associated with. I have reset the phone to the point where I no longer have access to phone calls or texts associated with the number. If we were to trade in the phone for an upgrade, would we be able to recover the number & log into a new phone with a new apple ID?

You will get an email to your primary Apple ID address or your Apple ID Recovery email address. They don't use texts for changing passwords.
