iOS 15 Files app

On iOS 15 I have some webm files and an ogv file showing up in the Files app. I’d like them removed but iOS shows me an ‘access denied’-like icon over the particular files (circular with red filling, white bar). I can select other files in the Files app, but not these. Any suggestions?

Hi Cypher001,

We understand you're receiving a message in the Files App stating your permission to access is denied. Have you tried restarting your iPhone since noticing the issue? Are you able to move the files to a new folder? Take a look at this previous discussion, where a similar issue was replied to by a Community Specialist and was marked as solved.

Using Files app, returns "you do not have sufficient rights/permissions"

Keep us updated.

Hello Cypher001,

Since this happens with certain files with format in common, this may indicate that these formats are not supported by the Files app. You can modify and rearrange documents in supported formats. Check out View and modify files and folders in Files on iPhone - Apple Support.

How were these files added originally? Are you able to find and remove them from the original source?

Take care.

Hi Jeff_W,

Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry I was unclear. Allow me to specify: there's no actual massage stating acces is denied. What I do see is in the screenshot. The first greyed-out file is the .ogv, the second is a .webm. Longpressing the .ogv results in nothing, the .webm gives the options "show info, quick view, tags, copy, share"
