I have just logged into this Community on my computer and I had to verify my location on my iPhone. The location shown on here was in Northern Ireland but I am in England.
Why is this happening, please?

The location is where your ISP reported it. If their servers are in a location distant from you, there will be a large error. Based on other posts I have read, the distant error can be very large.
Yes, I too get warning signs popping up whenever I log in somewhere with my AppleID, telling me someone in Glasgow is trying to log into my system, and will I allow it. But I live about 400 miles away from Glasgow and haven't been there for decades.
