iOS 15.5 update causing bluetooth issues...

Not working on 2013 BMW 328xi and iPhone XR. Now that I have unpaired the car from the phone, reattempts at pairing say ‘ iPhone can no longer connect to BMW xxxxx. Forget this device and pair it again.’ It will no longer pair after multiple tries. Apple phone support no help

I feel your pain. I did exactly as you did, and now that the device is forgotten there’s no way to use the telephone in the car. Someone previously suggested making a bug report. I don’t know whether those are looked at any more than these community discussions. Apple has hundreds of dissatisfied customers now

Update: Utimatley what ever the phone is doing to maintain the pairing has caused me to have to reset my Sync system every time in addition to my phone. It freezes the infotainment system. Not sure it the pairing certificate is trying to over work the system there the communication cannot be resta listed as a result. Because even when in range my phone cannot even see the radio at all but the radio says it is still connected. I have tried the connection avoiding a contacts download with no success either. Apple we need an update soon.

side note a basic Jabra Freeway unit works without the issues of a full infotainment.

You’r lucky, some BMW I and X5 owners reported the same issue on Apple/Spotify community, but the problem is not with spotify, because other apps are affected too.

That sequence doesn't exist on my iPhone. There is no "Reset Network Settings." Only option is to reset the whole phone.

Some of my devices work (airpods); others (Bose mini soundlink) no longer connect. They pair but do not connect.

What I should’ve said is that I went through all the support articles on how to re-pair your phone and in my phone under CarPlay it showed a Nissan as an available car. I assumed that was a prior rental car that my phone was paired with. I suppose it could’ve been a nearby car as I was working through this in a parking lot

Yes I have been facing similar issue as well! I thought I was the only one experiencing this but finally I found people with similar issue too!

Trust me when I say I have been trying all means to get it working again but it does not seem to resolve the issue. It is really annoying and frustrating to see something that once worked no longer works…

I’ve tested the latest version of Spotify with my spare iPhone which is still running on iOS 14. Seem to be working fine… Please fix this, Apple. Revert whatever you’ve done! :(

My phone call to Apple support last night was totally worthless. It seems the only thing we can do is keep posting online and hope for a software patch. I would like to know if there is a way for me to undo the software update 15.5 because everything was good before that

This is a follow up to my initial post from almost a month ago, on 6/7/22.

I was OOT for 3 weeks and my ‘17 Chevy Bolt EV sat during that time. Just yesterday I was in the car and on BT - not wired CarPlay - and when the phone rang I answered and the call went through just fine. I then placed a call and that went through just fine, too.

There is no explanation. I haven’t updated any software/firmware, and the iPhone 11 and car were paired again right after I installed 15.5.

Mysteriously, it now works as expected. The iPhone’s been to another time zone, it’s been rebooted and in-and-out of Airplane Mode at least 3 times. But, it’s working correctly now. Go figure?

I still don’t have this figured as well as I’d hoped. I can receive calls, but can’t make outgoing calls until I answer a prompt on the phone to use the new line (phone I’m guessing). After making a call I had to go back into settings a select CarPlay in the main menu and setup again. It also seems that CarPlay is using my phones WiFi to connect. This also means it’s using data for voice I assume.

BMW and Apple need to jointly own and fix these issues. Most modern cars are feature rich enough, and generally liked by the owners. I just want to connect the phone for calls and maybe listen to a few tunes on it.

Same problems with Sync Bluetooth issues and stereo connected Bluetooth problem. It keeps loosing the connection over and over once it has been paired. I have done full device removals and reinstalls with no success at all. It just keeps failing to hold that connection all together.

I’m not sure if this has something to do with the 15.5 update or my Bluetooth but I have a iPhone 11 and noticed a few weeks ago that none of my Bluetooth devices will skip songs while in music. I have to use my phone to skip to the next song. It has to be my phone because all my devices are acting the same. The odd thing about it is that all my problems have happened within the last 2 weeks. I have had the update for over a month so idk!!

do you think this will fix the bluetooth problem? Asking because it will require a bit of work to get all the network stuff at home and work back online.

I tried reset the network setting but the Bluetooth still not working
