I have an iPhone XS 512gb and its updated to 15.4.1 and my battery health is 84%. From a past few months i have been noticing that whenever I'm on a facetime video call the iphone heats up and starts lagging in which i cant switch to other application. Before ios 15 this issue was not found , but after updating to ios 15 this issue is literally a big issue!
If it is covered by Apple Care, contact Apple Support and ask them to diagnose it, maybe the battery needs replacing as well.

No, it just ran out of battery life very fast, it did not get hotter than usual.
Did you already set it back to factory settings on your computer, without using the latest backup?
After setting it up manually, test FaceID again.

Nope never!! Its under Apple Care Protection Plan
Even if the battery is 84%??
On my iPhone 5s, 1.gen, I had to get the battery replaced, although the health status was still around 83 percent.
