How can I hide or remove the sidebar when using the ipad as an external screen for my Mac?

I have a new ipad which works as an external display for my MacBook pro but it has a menu on the side, I can't hide or close this menu even when using fullscreen video etc.

iPad Pro 10.5-inch, Wi-Fi, Cellular

If you already tried (to no avail) the steps provided by the support article that led you here (specifically at the section "Use the sidebar on your iPad" and/or at the section "Change settings", I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly, using this link:--> Get Support
