Magic Trackpad No Longer Clicks (Lost Haptic Feedback)

I've researched this issue, but have not found a solution.

Mysteriously, my Magic Trackpad suddenly ceased to provide the click. I have tried resetting the NVRAM/PRAM (I have a 27-inch iMac, late 2015, macOS Monterey 12.4), but it has not resolved the issue. Also, I've tried adjusting preferences, turning the trackpad off and on again, removing it from bluetooth and re-adding it, and of course rebooting my system numerous times.

This seems to coincide with an update to 12.4.

Has anyone offered or discovered a fix for this?

Solved. System Preferences > Trackpad > UNCHECK Tap to Click. Close. TrackPad > CHECK Tap to Click.

This seems to reset the trackpad tapping actions.

Same here. Update to Monterey 12.4 and lost connection to my external Apple trackpad. Mac Mini M1, external bluetooth Apple Mouse, Apple Keyboard, and Apple Trackpad. Mouse & Keyboard OK (but took a while to reconnect). Researched online, tried everything (as per original post), nothing works.

Every macOS update causes headaches.

Update: The Apple Magic Trackpad connected, finally, but Tap to Click does not work. The pointer moves, hovers over an option (like I have this question too) but tap/touch does nothing. You need to physically click (press hard until you hear the click) for any action.
