Cannot send message - contact keeps defaulting to old sim not esim

Just enabled new eSim

Messages are failing for some contacts

Steps taken: Have deleted conversations and deleted the contact - no luck

The contact record says has "always use personal" as the preferred line but keeps reverting back to "primary" (which is the dead sim).

I resend and force it and it doesn't work

HELP!

Does your eSIM replace your nano-SIM ...


... or is it a 2nd line in-addition to your nanoSIM?


If it's a replacement ... remove your old nano-SIM


If it's a 2nd line ... see that the eSIM is configured as your data line in Settings -> Mobile (Cellular) -> Mobile (Cellular) Data
