Hi. I play several songs on stage as a keyboard player. Most of the time I use Korg Triton as AU Plug-in in Mainstage. Is it possible to program Mainstage to change the presets on the same Triton AU instance when changing patches within Mainstage? My goal is to conserve my CPU power. I would like to use only one instance of Triton AU Plug-in.

Yes, you can. Set up a patch with the Triton in it and then copy and paste as alias that patch. Create a screen control in layout mode and then map that control at patch level to each of the Triton plugins (one being an alias). That will allow the setting of that control at the patch level to be retained such that when you reselect that patch, the Triton will take up the last setting.
Note that under Preferences General there is a Parameter Value On Patch Change which matters; alternatively, you can set the individual control to retain its value on patch change (or revert to saved).
Drag a slider or rotary control to the canvas in Layout Mode.
Go to the patch. Select that control and then edit the mapping by scrolling down to the Triton plugin and mapping to whatever control it is you wish to adjust.
Repeat for the Alias patch.
No problem. I haven't tried this but can you use a different midi channel for each instrument in the Triton? Create an IAC port to input to the Triton and then route your keyboard to a different midi channel on the IAC in each patch?
I want to change the preset eg. change rhodes to trumpet sound. I could not have find anything related to change the preset of Triton. There are only controls for realtime sound manipulation, filter, cutoff, efx etc.
The midi channel idea works. You need to create an external instrument in each patch (not an alias) and use it to route your keyboard to the IAC and the channel that corresponds to the channel set up in the triton for the instrument you want to play.
I am sorry I could not find any screen control type to change the presets on Triton. Could you please give some more detail?
I see what you mean now. I don't think that is possible using an alias but someone more knowledgeable might be able to suggest hopefully.
