Using ergonomic Microsoft keyboard and mouse with iMac

I use (USB) Microsoft's Sculpt Ergonomic Wireless Keyboards and Mice on all my computers, including my late-2019 iMac. Standard keyboards, where the keys are all together, causes shoulder and neck pain. Additionally, MS's mouse that tilts wrist slightly to right, has done away with wrist pain.

What I'm finding is after some time, the mouse movement gets jittery on my iMac. When I reboot, things are smooth for a while then without fail, the mouse pointer doesn't track well with the physical movement of the mouse.

I've moved USB dongle to different ports but it makes no difference. The last comment is that it might be worse as I load more applications...Outlook, Chrome, etc.

I find myself shutting apps just to try and get the mouse to run smoothly but an OS restart is necessary.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I'm running the latest version of Monterey.

Thanks.

I'm also wondering if it's interference (via 2.4GHz band) from something else in my office but I would think the jitteriness would be consistent.

Could be but, for me, radio interference has manifested itself with disconnections, not jitters. There is a Apple support article on the subject:

Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support

including this list of symptoms:

Symptoms of wireless interference

Any of these symptoms could be caused by interference affecting the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal:

    • Device doesn't connect or stay connected
    • Connection is slow and signal strength  is low
    • Bluetooth audio skips, stutters, cuts off, or has static or buzzing
    • Pointer movement is erratic or jumpy 👈🏻

so your interference suspicions are definitely justified.
