Hi - Since the last 2 ios 15 updates my mail app is either crashing, giving me a blank screen (no mail messages) or only loading after a long wait (minutes). Have tried deleting loads of mail to reduce inbox size. Have tried deleting and reinstalling mail app. No success. Its not a memory issue. Got an iphone 8 plus 256GB. 3/4 of memory available. Is it somethign to do with ios15 on an older handset? This handset should not yet be obsolete.

I had already tried all thOse things with no joy.
I have set up an iPhone 13 and copied across settings and it loads on the iPhone 13 so it’s clearly an issue with the iPhone 8 Plus and seems to only have occurred with iOS 15.4.

Does this happen when connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data? If the issue occurs on both Wi-Fi and cellular data, then you'll want to reach out to Apple Support to have this looked into further.

If your iPhone 13 is currently running iOS 15.4, you'll want to update it to the latest which is currently iOS 15.5. To install the update go to Settings > General > Software Update.

Yes I did update the iPhone 13 which I have borrowed . The issue I reported is that my phone - an iPhone 8 Plus- is no longer loading mail on iOS 15.4 or 15.5 .
the app is there but when tog open it I just get a white screen only showing “back” at the top . The email is not displaying . On 15.4 it would show sometimes if left for 15 minutes . Nothing on 15.5
it seems iOS 15.4 and 15.5 have rendered this handset useless for email
