Apple earphone volume control not working with lightning to aux adapter

I bought an apple EarPods with a headphone plug (3.5mm jack) and Apple Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter (Both are apple OEM products). I checked the earphone and adapter connected to my device (iPhone 13 with the latest iOS 15.5 ), and the volume controls are not working, but Pause /Play works.

I tried the below options but had no success

  1. Disconnect and reconnect the earphone & lightning to a 3.5 mm adapter,
  2. Restart iPhone,
  3. Settings -> Sounds & Haptics->Headphone safety -> Forget all adapters
  4. Turn off and on silent button

But when I tried with my friend's iPhone, it worked. His device is an iPhone 12, not upgraded to the latest iOS version 15.5

Is there any setting that needs to be adjusted to make volume control work? Or is it a problem with iPhone 13 model when using earphones with lightning adapters?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Hello Rajakrishnan,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to control volume from your Apple EarPods plugged into your iPhone with an adapter. To help with this, please make sure you follow all of the steps here: If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you are still having an issues, please go to your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have this looked at further: Apple - Find Locations - Country Selector

Cheers!
