My friend with iPhone does not get my imessage why is bubble green?

If the friend is receiving them as SMS/MMS messages, one possibility is that the friend doesn't have iMessage turned on in Settings > Messages.

On the Home Screen, tap Settings
Tap Messages
Make sure that the setting for iMessage is turned on
