Getting Apple ID not available in Settings

I am listed as a family members recovery contacts. I keep getting a waring message that mentions her account on my MacBook


When we go to the settings on her MacBook Air then I see the picture below.


I've never seen anything like this before. Could someone please recommend steps to try and diagnose what is happening?


She also has an iPhone that uses that Apple ID. But so far no issues.

Hey smcrea,


Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We see at the bottom it says "Device list not available" which may be the reason you're seeing the warning. If they haven't restarted the Mac, have them restart. Restart has been know to resolve some software related issues.


If that doesn't help, make sure the Mac is up-to-date by following the steps here: Update macOS on Mac.


If you continue to get the warning, let us know the exact warning. It may help you gets more answers.
