I can't log in to my user account after changing Apple ID password

I was logged into my MacBook Air M1 and I changed my apple ID password. The system stopped responding, so I restarted Mac and since then I am not able to log into my user account. It just automatically logs into System Administrator. And shows keychain not found error. I also tried resetting my keychain but it didn't work.

Please help me log into my original user account.

Q - " I was logged into my MacBook Air M1 and I changed my apple ID password. "

A - The Computer Password is independent from the Apple ID Password

A - The computer Password would be the Original Password that was Setup when the computer was First Setup

A - The Apple ID password is the Password you would be using to Log Into This Site to Post this question

A - So the real question was which of the two were changed ?

If the Computer password was changed, this would make a New Keychain.

4 - Top Tool Bar >> Utilities >> Terminal

5 - Type resetpassword as one word and no spaces

2. I changed name of my user account.

as in you went to SystemPreferences > Users&Groups > AdvancedOptions and changed the username there? the warning seen below is a very serious one not to be taken lightly.

if yes, did you follow the instructions in this apple support document? > Change the name of your macOS user account and home folder - Apple Support.

to change that username, you must follow the directions in that document to the letter. if you tried to change it without following those steps exactly, it will be very difficult to recover the data in that account. do you by chance have a backup?

Have you tried starting up in safe mode followed by a normal restart?

Start up your computer in safe mode

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > Shut Down.
  2. Press and hold the power button on your Mac until “Loading startup options” appears.
  3. Select a volume.
  4. Press and hold the Shift key, then click Continue in Safe Mode.
  5. The computer restarts automatically.

Thanks for responding.

I forgot to mention the sequence of changes.

1. I changed my apple ID password.

2. I changed name of my user account.

After this the Mac froze and I had to restart. Since then the system is not logging into my old user account, rather it automatically logs into System Administrator. I can see this from Settings>Users & Groups.

Please help me log into my old account. I have lot of data there.
