Minecraft Launcher not opening

No matter what I’ve done it won’t open. I’ve used an alternative launcher, I’ve deleted the application, I’ve tried many methods from the internet and no matter what it won’t open. It simply shows up and disappears with no warnings. I don’t know what to do and it’s terribly frustrating. I’m hoping it’s not because my computer is old as its a 2011 Mac and the issue was an abrupt shift. I was playing and then no matter what I couldn’t get back on. Praying someone can help me.
