Why there is no cross or exclamation mark when you get No Internet Access in WiFi?

Why the WiFi icon remains same even on if my internet is not there (No Internet Access)?

The only way to know if there is no internet to my WiFi is to goto settings and check there & there you will see an exclamation mark (android has cross or 'x', varies on phone to phone). So, my question is why the same icon (with exclamation mark or cross) is not reflecting in status bar icon of WiFi?

If this is not a bug, please introduce this feature so that we can know when my internet is down. Many users will be benefitted by this. I have shared it on reddit as well.

Thanks.

Hi sfksuperman,

If we understand correctly, you're seeing the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar of your iPhone even when you're out of range of your network. Is that right? How often does this seem to happen?

If you haven't updated to iOS 15.5 yet, try backing up and updating to see if that helps: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you find it still happens, tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will remove and reset all saved networks, passwords, VPN/APN configurations, and cellular settings. Once you've done that, rejoin your network and test it out.

If you're in need of further help on this, we recommend contacting Apple here: Get Support

Take care.
