So I had an email all written and ready to send when I decided to add a photo from my Photos library. I thought I could just drag and drop. Nope. I had to export it to my desktop then add as a photo into my email then delete the photo from my desktop. Any other way to do that?
No need to mention sharing the photo since that only works to put the photo into a new email. Nor do I need help with iPhone or iPad. All of this is on my Macbook.

Which email app are you using? Are you using webmail in a browser, perhaps?
When I drag and drop an image from Photos into an email I'm composing in Apple Mail, it works.
i'm using Apple Mail. I must have been doing something wrong. It's working now like it should or as I expect it to work.
I tried this and didn't get anything like what you show. Few of my photos showed up. Interesting technique but evidently dragging and dropping was the approach that works.
