HDMI to DisplayPort - Not Supported? HDMI Only To HDMI?

Bought an HMDI to DisplayPort cable but a bit surprised that the monitor's not seeing my Studio.

Looking at the tech specs for the Mac Studio, it seems that DisplayPort is only via USB-C?

HDMI is only listed for HMDI <-> HDMI? If so, seems odd, considering that they may adapters.

Mac Studio, macOS 12.3

There are Many adapters for HDMI and for DisplayPort on the market.

The ones that always work convert a computer's DisplayPort signal port to a displays's HDMI port.

The others are hit-or-miss as to whether they really can work at all the other direction.

HDMI has limited bandwidth compared to DisplayPort, and uses a smaller number of data pathways in its cables at higher Voltage. Aall of those combine to work against HDMI as a high-end interface, and converting from HDMI at the computer end is difficult.
