Not Getting WhatsApp banner notifications in MacBook Air M1.

Hi,

I am not getting any Banner notifications of WhatsApp in my MacBook Air M1.

All the notification settings in WhatsApp are correct.

and I don't find the WhatsApp application listed in my 'Notification preferences'.

I feel I'm not getting notifications because of this.

I've tried Uninstalling and Reinstalling the App but still doesn't work.

I've even checked by creating another User to see if it's User-specific, but still of no use.

Finally, I reset my Mac and reinstalled everything, even though there is no solution.

Contacted Apple Support and WhatsApp support, even though they couldn't be of any help.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue ??

Hello again!

Thank you for your screenshots.

Apparently, this may be unintended app behaviour.

Here's a relatively recent thread I found which states that notifications stopped working after the recent WhatsApp update.

Whatsapp is not showing notifications - Apple Community

This unfortunately means that on my end, there's nothing further I can do.

HOWEVER, You can let Apple know: Product Feedback - Apple

And you can also send a bug report to WhatsApp (Go to App Preferences > "Help" > "Contact Us".

I hope this helped, and that a bug fix will be distributed soon.

Open the WhatsApp app and press Command + "," to open the App Preferences.

Click on "Notifications"

Check if "Desktop Alerts" is turned on and that "Turn off all desktop notifications" is NOT turned on.

Hey Flef,

Thank you so much for the above response.

This seems a bug of a recent WhatsApp update.

Everyone in the above forum seems to have the same issue from the same time when I'm facing.

Let's see if WhatsApp recognizes the bug and gives a solution for it.

Hello

I have the exact same issue on MacBook Air M1. I get the same issue with no banner notifications and WhatsApp not even appearing in the list of apps with notifications. I assume it's an issue with the latest update of WhatsApp and will just have to wait for an update.
