The load remote content button dissapeared from my Mac Mail?

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following; 

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts 

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Then make sure the item's leroydouglas mentioned are turned off. Then reboot normally and test again.

I would toggle those options in your " privacy setting "you are not asking about chugging..." and see if there is any change.

Compare your results and then come back to your preferred settings to test.

Are you saying your issue is solved with those features turned off(?) ie you can load all your your email...

ref: mail app select Mail>Preferences>Privacy  disable all:

• “Protect Mail Activity” / 
• “Hide IP address” /
• “Block all remote content”

You have to ask yourself—just how have we made it this far with our email after decades just fine and no issues...(?)

Just because Apple introduces new features as bells and whistle—does that make you any less secure(?)

My opinion— no... do I have those features turned on, no....would I feel more secure with them turn on, no again

These new features have caused a flood of support issue in the Forums as I have witnessed.

Apple really, really, really doesn't want us to have any remote content in email. * sigh *

For trusted addresses I cannot for the life of me get MacMail to load remote content automatically. That seems like a pretty basic function in mail.

Changing the privacy settings did not help. In fact, it made things worse. There should be a button to Load Remote Content, but there is not, and the Viewing preference is gone.
