How do you set columns to auto right size in Finder?

In column view in finder, right-clicking gives the option to "right size" columns either individually or equally. How do you set this as a default so that columns are always rights-sized in new finder windows?

Currently, whenever an item is selected in column view, the columns rearrange in such a way as to remove the filenames from visibility, so you can't see other folders or even the name of the folder you have selected. I would like to be able to see all of the filenames in columns to navigate easily through folders and files. I am aware that I can do this individually each time I open a new window. The format of windows when the right size all columns individually option is selected is perfect, but I would like to set a global behavior that make such repetitive actions unnecessary. Thanks!

Columns in Finder The line separating the columns in Finder has morphed into a slider and the only way to move the line between the columns is at the bottom of the column. How can I change that back to a normal line?

Just use the option key to move the bars to suit, and it should become the default.
