iPad Air 2 4G/5G compatibility

I have an iPad Air2 with a Speedtalk Mobile Sim. I was notified by Speedtalk Mobile that as of July 1 "your current 3G/2G cellphone will no longer be working on our network or any network in the U.S." Speedtalk. tech support said "Please note SpeedTalk SIM card will work in any unlocked 4G GSM device as long as you have 4G coverage in your area." Is the iPad Air 2 a 4G GSM device?

I have shown you above that the iPad device is capable of handling 4G. Yes, you may upgrade the SIM, and that will likely provide the 4G option you're seeking. One sure way to do that would be to use a different carrier. Perhaps Speedtalk could provide you with such a SIM, although admittedly that contradicts the assertion you made in your original post above.

My iPad in Settings/General/about says it is an iPad Air 2, running Software version 15.5, Model Number MH322LL/A.

in Settings it only lists Airplane mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Cellular Data (no Personal Hotspot or Carrier options)

Under Cellular Data with the Speedtalk Mobile Sim installed it has Cellular Data on/off, Cellular Data Options: Data Roaming on/off, Data LTE/3G but no 4G/5G option. There is no "Enable 4G" option below the Cellular Data option as shown above. Is there a way of upgrading something (the SIM or the iPad OS to enable the 4G option?
