Bluetooth anomolie
I have just discovered the probable cause of my Big Sur slowdown problem. I am using BlueTooth to transfer files between Big Sur (11.4) and El Capitan (10.11) for quite some time. While small file do not have any appreciable affects, large ones are the problem as I just tried to transfer a 6.44gb file from El Capitan to Big Sur and now that is doing the exact same thing as Big Sur has been doing for some time now.
The slowness, especially switching between parts of a program; i.e. hand entry to find/change function seem to indicate the computer is using hard drive storage instead of using RAM storage. That is the only thing that seems logical, in my opinion.
I just wonder if there is a way to fix both the Bluetooth AND slowdown? short of having to reload the OSs from TimeMachine which I am extremely leary of because of a snaffu a couple of years ago that wiped my entire backup external drive.
