Score Editor Quantization 8, 12 not working correctly

I have a bar that includes a mix of 8ths notes and 8th note triplets. That's what the 8, 12 score quantization setting is supposed to be for. Logic completely get's lost when trying to show the music correctly as you can see below. To make sure I didn't miss anything I tried all the other quantization options. Non worked. All the midi events are hard quantized. So there should be no room for misinterpretation. I even tried it with all 8th notes being triplets, same result.

On a different note, I am not sure why Logic would display a rest on beat 2. This said, when I turn "interpretation" off, the rest goes away. But why would it interpret it as a rest with "interpretation" turned on? Makes no sense to me, because there is absolutely no gap between the first two midi events.

So if anyone knows how to set Logic's score editor up to interpret this midi correctly (the way it is written at the bottom of my graphic), please let me know.
