Digital booklet in iTunes.

I have been recreating the digital booklets for many of my iTunes library albums for a while now (that is the copying the original CD booklets even the vinyl albums) — I have just seen similar posts on Apple Community and its pretty much how I’ve been doing it. A few changes as to how I get there but it ens with the same result.

9 months ago I updated my iMac to a new model and I reinstalled all my apps and data via my TimeMachine. Unfortunately, none of the digital booklets were uploaded, even though all the albums and single tracks were. Not even the few that were purchased from iTunes were uploaded. I had to reload them individually which took an age, but during the lockdown this gave me something to do. However, I have been trying to find a solution for the booklets to be permanently linked to the individual albums, with no success!

I have also purchased a PlayList Exporter App to create back-up data files, but this did not help either.

Is there a solution to making the recreated booklets permanently linked to the albums?

Thanks for getting back to me.

I have been scanning each page of my CD booklets with my Cannon MG7750 Printer/Scanner. I copy them into Photoshop and clean up the pages. (We had a house fire some time ago and the pages of most of the CD booklets were a little tarnished).

I save them as JPEGs, at 72dpi, and open them in Apple Preview and convert each to PDF.

Using Preview I add the saved PDFs to the first page (the cover normally) and create the digital album booklet, which I then upload to my iTunes Library and complete the ‘Info’ details which usually attaches to the individual album.

As some of the booklets need to be completely recreated, I have found some websites that have the CD/Album booklets. (DisCogs, MusicBrainz, 45 Cat, 45 Worlds e.t.c.) I download these and create, as near as possible to the official release, the album digital booklet. This also applies to most online purchases, as the digital booklets often do not accompany the downloaded purchase.

As I had to recently reinstall, as I upgraded to a new iMac, I noticed the albums and their tracks had uploaded, but not the album digital booklets I had recreated.

I hope this helps?

KGeez00,

Got it. Thanks for the update.

We have two links that may help you get on the right track with restoring the booklets you've already created and/or added to your Get Info links:
