iPhone XR Q: Alternative to side button?
Is there alternative to side button for XR? This is for situation such as
- side button not working due to Phone Case misalignment
- mechanical problem

Yes it is.
It's called AssitiveTouch. It provides a floating menu in the interface where you can on the screen emulate press on ex. Side Button. You can also emulate the Volume buttons, and the Mute Switch.
You can activate Assistive Touch here:
Settings -> Accessibility -> Touch -> AssistiveTouch
