I have the same appletv problem.

home videos are not syncing since they were moved from iTunes to AppleTV app.

When will iPads support continuous playback/playlists of personal videos again? Is there a keyword that I need to use in order to bring up the working video playlist apps in the AppStore? I’m currently using “video playlist” as my keywords when I search the AppStore. I don’t want to have to constantly use my data/internet to accomplish this simple task so suggesting YouTube as a remedy won’t cut it. I used iTunes to transfer the videos onto my iPad, however, well over half of the playlist apps in the AppStore wont load the personal videos that are displayed in my AppleTV app (which only plays one at a time). Does AppleTV not support the video playlist function for a specific reason, if so, could you guys help me understand what that reason is? I like my iPad Air but I am at my wit’s end trying to accomplish this one task that I am accustomed to performing with the same app (VLC) on any Android device. Please help!

What you need to do is make sure they are in the Music or Movies folder in your home folder on your Mac and turn on Home sharing on both your Mac and the AppleTV linked to the same Apple ID email address.

I find it is useful if you have a large movie library on another hard drive, to ensure the TV App's preferences do not try to organize the library under the Files preferences:
