Is there an adapter to convert my iPad Air HDMI to usb-c for MacBook Air 2021?

Presumably you iPad has a Lightning connector - with which you are using a Lightning Digital AV Adapter?

You cannot use this adapter with USB-C - as this is an entirely different interface. There are no Lightning to USB-C adapters that perform interface conversion.

If your Mac or iPad have a USB-C connector, to connect to a TV/Monitor via HDMI you will instead require a USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter:

We don't know which iPad Air model you have,

and

which iPadOS version / Mac OS on the MacBook Air

A few thoughts:

You would most likely need to use an adapter from the iPad Air USB-C port to the MacBook Air
