I deleted an account in Settings > Passwords, but the app still default to that account

I have two apps on my phone, including Wells Fargo and a healthcare app, where I set up the apps using one username/password account, and then I needed to use a different account. I've deleted the original accounts in Passwords in Settings, and the new accounts are the only ones listed there. But every time I open either app, it actually logs all the way in under the old username/password.

Where is that data being stored? How can I really delete these old accounts and default to the new ones?

I've tried deleting and re-adding the apps themselves. I'm running iOS 15.5.

That's a great question, MacJLB.

It is possible the applications may be saving the login details. Since you're using Face ID to log in to the applications, disable Face ID within the apps themselves. After disabling Face ID, log out and back in using the appropriate login information. Once logged in you can enable Face ID if you would like to use that feature.

If you continue to have issues after following those steps, you'll want to reach out to the application developer. The "How to contact an app developer" article previously linked outlines how to locate their contact details.

I was able to fix both apps. Deleting and re-adding Wells Fargo did the trick after I saw this screen shot. For the other app, when I turned on Face ID in the app preferences, it told me there was another account already holding that spot that would be deleted (which is what I wanted). So it worked on that one. As you can see, Wells wouldn't let me do that and just said it couldn't be changed. Thank you so much for your help!

Hello! I am using Face ID, and the apps are defaulting to an old username and password. I event deleted and re-added one of the apps, and when I re-added it the same old account was the default. Do you think the issue is that the apps themselves are saving the username/password combo somewhere? I thought, since it was an issue that recurred with two separate apps, it was a phone/iOS issue.
