Slow Wifi (internet) OS Monterey

Are there any new tips or tricks to improve my wifi/internet speed.

Even after the latest Monterey update it is still very slow!!!!


I tried most of the things mentioned in older posts but to no avail.

Use the built-in diagnostic tools
Wi-Fi Recommendations. Click Wi-Fi  in Control Center or the menu bar and check for a menu item named Wi-Fi Recommendations. If you see it, your Mac has detected an issue and has recommendations. Choose Wi-Fi Recommendations to learn more.*
Wireless Diagnostics. Press and hold the Option key on your keyboard while clicking Wi-Fi  in Control Center or the menu bar, then choose Open Wireless Diagnostics from the menu. Learn more about using Wireless Diagnostics to analyze your wireless environment.

Hi there VientianeBV,


You mentioned having the latest update, but the latest official release is macOS 12.4. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. This link will show how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.


Let's begin with some basics:

  1. Have you been able to test for the same issue while using the Ethernet connection on your Mac, and temporarily disabling Wi-Fi to test it? If not, we recommend testing that now if your Mac is close enough to your modem/router.
  2. If you connect other devices to the same Wi-Fi network, do they also experience the same issue?
  3. Have you tried a restart of your Mac since this began? If not, check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
