I am using garage band 10.4.6 on MacBook pro 16 inch with OS monterey. Garage Band preferences is set to built microphone. I am trying to record ambient sounds. I have track set up with microphone. When I click record I get a message that says "no input selected.

Have you set the privacy settings?
I went to privacy settings to allow garage band app to access microphone. I still don't know what to do next?

I don't have a microphone. I was hoping to use the microphone in computer as I have always done in the past. I notice in the Garage Band pane I don't even see the icon where I could draw on music in Apple music list. I am not sure if that adds anything helpful to getting to a solution.
