Hi Baileyhubb8,

Thanks for your post to Apple Support Communities. Let's rule out what might be going on to cause the static you hear when playing music through CarPlay.

First, make sure your iOS is fully updated to iOS 15.5. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.

Next, make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

If the issue still isn't resolved, reply back letting us know if you also hear static when playing music through your iPhone speaker, headphones, or another Bluetooth accessory (speaker, not CarPlay). Also test other audio through CarPlay from your iPhone like phone calls or videos. The goal will be to narrow down what the static is related to.

We look froward to hearing back from you.

Best regards.

I tried several different cables, both USBa and USBc, I even purchased a new IPhone 15 and brought my vehicle to the dealer's service department. Of course, it didn't happen with their phone. They said nothing they can do and have not heard of any issues. They blame Apple, Apple blames dealer. So frustrating with it being a brand new 2024 Murano. I NEED A FIX.

Same here. Just bought the new 15 Pro Max. Drive a 2019 Toyota Tacoma (with 2020 Pioneer head). Never had an issue with static on my old phone in the same truck/stereo.

The static is so bad now that can’t even use it for calls (no issues with music). I was already mad about swapping out everything to make sure it was USB-c compatible.

Unacceptable

I’ve purchased and installed a new android multimedia system with apple carplay inbuilt in my e46. It’s also crackling and making low frequency noise when carplay is open. Meanwhile, when I play music through the natvie android apps, it’s all good.

happens only with Apple Music. Will have to test other ways here too, cause it’s very annoying to have my newly installed multimedia and audio system not perform because of this.

Same issue here. My Xm radio works fine. Usually when I first connect on Bluetooth or plug in, my iPhone 14 makes a strong static noise, especially with bass sounds, that is very irritating. It didn’t do this when I first got the car. It’s a 2020 Hyundai Elantra with only 17k miles on it. (No accidents or trouble with speakers or radio otherwise). Dealer confirmed im

up to date on software and it’s not a car issue. I’m thankful that I’m not the only one with this issue but I really want a way to make this work. I want my music and the static is so irritating. Please- I just want music that doesn’t shake the speakers. Since it’s several car types, it seems like Apple can do something to fix it. It’s not like

these phones are cheap. The least they can do is connect properly.
