can I increase the speed of the switch spaces animation?

when I switch spaces using [Ctrl + <-] or [Ctrl + ->], there's an animation that indicates that the screens are changing. what's interesting is that all of the key presses are being registered with the active window on the previous space until the animation ends. so I often find that, although I am looking at mostly the new space, all of my key presses are still going to the old space. this has been frustrating for day-to-day use.

I figured one way to mitigate this would be to speed up the animation time: less time -> smaller time window for wrong key presses. but even though there are settings for other timing functions (e.g., key repeat time), I don't see one for space switching animations.

Any appetite for this feature? Any other advice?

Enabling "Reduce motion" in System Preferences > Accessibility > Display will speed things along.
