Errorcode 2006 on computer with IPad 2 reset to factory standards

Using Itunes to reset to factory setting and erase an IPad2 air since I do not have the previous owners Apple password (if any). Looks like everything is doing fine until half way completed. Then I get an error "2006". Have no idea on what this is. Anyone know?

iPad Air 2, iPadOS 15

If it is activation locked, and you don't have the credentials for the iCloud account that was used to lock it, you're wasting your time.

Only the owner of the account used to lock it can remove the activation lock.
