MacOS Recovery - An Internal Error Occurred

Using M1 mac, and my Mac didn’t get wireless for a while. I shut it down and back on, but got a black screen on log on. Tried macOS recovery option but basically I get “An Internal Error Occurred” meaning there’s no way for me to use recovery either.

Any suggestions on what to do here?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.5

Hello Socorro_14,

Does your Mac still start up to a blank screen now? If you're still getting a blank screen when trying to start up normally, there are some additional steps here that may help: If your Mac starts up to a blank screen

Just to confirm, did that error appear immediately after entering macOS Recovery? You can find some good information about macOS Recovery here: Intro to macOS Recovery

macOS Recovery is the built-in recovery system on your Mac.

On a Mac with Apple silicon, you can use macOS Recovery to repair your internal disk, reinstall macOS, restore your files from a Time Machine backup, set the security policy for different disks, transfer files between two Mac computers, start up in safe mode, and more.

On an Intel-based Mac, you can use macOS Recovery to repair your internal disk, reinstall macOS, restore your files from a Time Machine backup, set security options, and more.
